All these photographs were taken on the mostly unspoiled Canary Island of La Gomera – or a little way off its coast. I have lived here since 1988, and I’ve come to know this little island quite well. Its subtropical rainforest, steep valleys and rocky shores, along with their ever-changing light and visual moods, provide a constant source of photographic pleasure. As does its wildlife. La Gomera is rich in birds, lizards, and insects, particularly butterflies – many of which exist only on this island. Some visit my garden, which was planted to attract them, others I have to seek out. The surrounding ocean is also full of photogenic creatures. And I take them as I find them – hence Natural Photography. Click on. |
