In 2004 I wrote and took the photos for the first English guidebook to La Gomera, which was very well reviewed and became the Mail On Sunday’s travel book of the month.

It differs from other guidebooks in that my central purpose was to answer the many questions I’d been asked about the various aspects of the island. I also wanted to make it entertainingly informative, and as much a beach read as a reference book.

In 2006 it appeared in German, by popular request, which was very flattering as there were already several German guidebooks to La Gomera.
